How are points calculated?
Botswana tertiary institutions use a "top six of 48" system per the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC). Each grade converts to points: A*=8, A=8, B=7, C=6, D=5, E=4, F=3, G/U/X=0. Your six best subjects are summed, giving a max of 48. Combined Science (Double Award) is one subject that fills two of those six slots, with doubled grades (A*A*/AA=16, BB=14, CC=12, DD=10, EE=8, FF=6, GG/UU/XX=0). ACRON applies all this for you and immediately shows qualifying programs.
Does ACRON support IGCSE results?
Yes. ACRON converts both BGCSE and IGCSE grades using the equivalence scale recognised by Botswana's tertiary admissions, then computes your top-six-of-48 score from whichever set you provide.

Who runs ACRON, and why we built it.
ACRON is a Botswana education-technology service, operated by Mosupiemang Holdings (Pty) Ltd, trading as ACRON, and based in Palapye. It turns BGCSE and IGCSE results into the standard best-six-of-48 points score and shows students exactly which programmes they qualify for across Botswana's tertiary institutions.
We built ACRON so that every Form 5 student gets a clear, honest answer about where their points can take them — fast, and in pula. ACRON runs as an online service, supported by email and WhatsApp.
