About ACRON
ACRON is a Botswana-built education platform that turns school-leaving exam results into points and shows students the university and college programmes they qualify for, in Botswana and across Africa.
What ACRON does
A student enters their subjects and grades. ACRON works out their points the way their country counts them, then lists the programmes whose minimum those points meet.
- A free points calculator for the BGCSE, IGCSE, KCSE, WASSCE, NSC (Matric), A-Level, the Baccalauréat and the other school-leaving exams used in the countries ACRON covers.
- A public directory of 689 universities and colleges and 10033 programmes in 26 African countries, plus Jamaica, with the entry requirements each institution has published and a link to the source where one is available.
- Study tools for ACRON Plus and Pro members: a study timetable, performance tracking, the Abby AI study coach and Read My Notes.

How ACRON started
ACRON began in Botswana. In May 2021 it was introduced at a press briefing in Gaborone as the ACRON Botswana mobile app, built to give Form 5 school-leavers clear facts about tertiary courses, accreditation and sponsorship before they apply. The Botswana Daily News reported the briefing, and bwtechzone interviewed the founder, Onalenna Mosupiemang, in November 2021. Since then ACRON has grown from one country to 27, and from a phone app to the web platform at acron.nanoga.org.
Who runs ACRON
ACRON is a Botswana education-technology company. It is operated by Mosupiemang Holdings (Pty) Ltd (registration number BW00009762063), trading as ACRON, and based in Palapye, Botswana. ACRON is built and run in Botswana, for students across Africa.
Where the information comes from
ACRON publishes what each institution and regulator has stated, with a link to the source where one is available. Entry requirements change, so always confirm with the institution before you apply. The final admission decision always rests with the institution.
What it costs
The points calculator and programme matching are free. ACRON Plus costs $4 a month and ACRON Pro costs $7 a month.
