About this programme

FASTEF (the former École Normale Supérieure) trains middle- and secondary-school teachers, subject inspectors and education advisers through annual recruitment competitions across science, letters and human-science subjects. Trainees complete pedagogical, theoretical and practical preparation leading to the CAEM or CAES teaching certificate. Entry is strictly by competitive examination.

Entry requirement

Admission is by national competitive entrance exam (concours). Meeting the academic requirement below does not by itself secure a place.
