Applies microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, econometrics, and development economics to address issues of rural poverty, agricultural markets, and regional development in Southern Ethiopia. Students study policy impacts on smallholder farmers and rural enterprises in the Wolaita and wider SNNPR region. Graduates work in regional planning bureaus, research institutes, NGOs, and financial institutions.
