About this programme
Launched in 2013 to address extremely high maternal mortality in the Afar Region, this midwifery programme trains students in antenatal care, safe delivery, postnatal care, family planning, and neonatal resuscitation. Clinical placements take place in Samara University Teaching Hospital and district health centres. Graduates are essential to reducing maternal death in pastoral communities.
