Use ACRON inside Claude

ACRON's Botswana points calculator and programme catalogue can answer inside Claude. Add ACRON once, then ask Claude things like "Which programmes can I do with 36 points? I like accounting."

Botswana only for now. No sign-in, no account and no payment needed.

1.Add ACRON to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize > Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it ACRON and paste this address, then click Continue: https://acron.nanoga.org/mcp
  4. Under Authentication, choose No sign in. Leave request headers empty. Click Add.
  5. In a new chat, make sure ACRON is switched on in the connectors menu, then ask your question.

Custom connectors work in Claude on the web, Claude Desktop and Cowork, on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. A Free account can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it first, under Organization settings > Connectors. Claude's own guide: Get started with custom connectors.

2.What ACRON can do in Claude

Work out BGCSE points

Adds up your best six subjects, out of 48, on the same scale the ACRON app uses. Combined Science (Double Award) fills two of the six places. If a subject cannot be counted, it says which one and why.

calculate_bgcse_points

Find programmes for your points

Lists Botswana programmes whose published minimum your points meet, with each institution's subject rules as published and a link to the full page. Add an interest such as "nursing" or "engineering" to narrow the list.

find_programmes

Look at one programme

Duration, entry points, subject rules, the institution's own entry wording, funding and accreditation notes, and a link to the institution's source.

4.Your data

ACRON receives only what Claude sends for that one question: the points, the subjects and grades, or the interest word. ACRON does not store them and needs no account. We count how often the tools are used (which tool, how many results, which assistant, and when). The request comes from Claude's servers, not from your phone, so ACRON never learns who asked. Claude's own handling of your chat is covered by Anthropic's policies. Full details: Privacy Policy, section 11.

5.For developers

A remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP: stateless, JSON replies, protocol versions 2025-11-25 and 2025-06-18, no authentication. Three read-only tools. You can test it with the MCP Inspector against https://acron.nanoga.org/mcp. Questions: [email protected].
